X Subscription Bundles Grok and Cursor From $8 to $200/Month

SpaceX Super Intelligence has folded X Premium, Grok and Cursor into a single plan called The X Subscription, with five tiers topping out at $200 a month.

The pitch is straightforward: one bill instead of three, in a paid AI market where the company competes with OpenAI and Anthropic. Whether it saves you money depends entirely on which of the three you already pay for.

The five tiers

  • Free — limited chat and agent usage only
  • Plus — $8/month
  • Premium — $30/month
  • Super — $100/month
  • Ultra — $200/month

TechCrunch reports AI usage caps increase as you move up the tiers, and that Premium or higher is required to access the latest Grok models. That last detail does most of the work in this lineup. If you want current-generation Grok, the $8 Plus tier is not the entry point — $30 is.

What is actually in the bundle

Subscribers get Grok for AI chat with support for voice, images, video and the API, plus Grok's agentic AI Bot. Cursor is included for AI coding. On top of that sit the existing X Premium paid features: the blue verified checkmark, creator tools and fewer ads.

For developers, Cursor is the line item that decides this. If you already pay for Cursor on its own and use Grok occasionally, the bundle consolidates spend you were making anyway. If you use Cursor with a different model provider, you are buying Grok capacity you may not touch.

If you already subscribe to X

The company says the comparable plan on the new subscription costs the same or less for existing X Premium+ subscribers. Existing users can switch from their subscription settings on X, or keep their current plan — that figure comes from the company, not an independent comparison.

One practical wrinkle: TechCrunch reports the upgrade option rolls out gradually, so the offer may not appear in your billing settings yet. If you were planning to switch this week, check and then check again rather than assuming you were excluded.

How to decide

Run the arithmetic on what you pay now, not on the headline tier. Add up your current Cursor seat, any Grok access and your X Premium line, then compare that total against the tier that actually clears your usage caps — which, for current Grok models, starts at Premium.

The announcement does not publish standalone prices for the bundled products, so the comparison has to come from your own invoices. Bundles are priced to look cheap against the sum of their parts; they are only cheap against the parts you were already buying.
