One-Rule Tactics: I shipped a tactics puzzle where every enemy follows one rule
My first Android game is live on Google Play: a free, offline 5×5 tactics puzzle where enemies always step toward you, so you win by luring them into rocks, pits and each other.
I just shipped my first game on Google Play: One-Rule Tactics, a small turn-based tactics puzzle for Android. It is free, works offline, and has no ads, no in-app purchases and no data collection.

The one rule
Every enemy on the board follows exactly one rule: always step toward you. That means you always know what they will do next. You don't win by attacking. You win by moving so that the enemies walk into rocks, fall into pits or crash into each other.
The board is 5×5 and most levels take only a handful of moves, but each move has to be worked out. You can preview the enemies' reply before you commit, and undo when a plan goes wrong.
What's inside
- 30 levels across 7 islands, from gentle to fiendish
- New twists on the later islands: pits, pushable crates, slippery ice and portals
- Smarter enemies later on: hunters that avoid traps, interceptors that aim ahead of you
- Three stars for the shortest solution, and an optional countdown on the hard islands
- English and Vietnamese, light and dark themes
How it was built
The game is a web app wrapped for Android: TypeScript and Vite for the game, Capacitor for the native shell, Vitest and Playwright for tests. I built it with a lot of help from an AI coding agent, which is a fitting story for this site.
One piece I like: every level is checked by a breadth-first solver. It finds the shortest win and counts how many shortest lines exist, so I know each puzzle is solvable, what par should be, and whether there is more than one clean answer. That made it much easier to order the levels by difficulty instead of by guesswork.
Try it and tell me what you think
It's Android only for now. If you play it, I'd love to hear which level stopped you, and whether the difficulty curve feels right. Feedback goes to studio@dangmua.com.
